The culmination of Consairtín's festival activities will feature the beautiful harp, concertina and bouzouki music of Gráinne Hambly and William Jackson, featuring a stunning repertoire of tunes, principally drawn from the Irish and Scottish traditions. Greta Curtin, Dónal Murphy, Jessie Healy and Eoin Murphy will combine their brilliant musicianship to present the very best of music from west Limerick and north Kerry.
The concert will also feature the premiere of a new suite of music, ‘Idir Dhá Thost’, composed by Donnchadh Mac Aodha, the inaugural recipient of the Consairtin Composition Bursary, in association with the Music Department, University College Cork. The piece will be performed by Garry Shannon (flute), Francis Cunningham (concertina), Therese McInerney (fiddle), Sinéad Heagney (viola), Lexie Boatright (harp) with Donnchadh himself on piano.
RAGAIREACHT, who have qualified for the final of Gael-Linn’s Siansa competition in the NCH on 14th April, will be given a big Clare and Consairtín send-off when they perform in glór.
