National Harp Day 2019
Louth HighlightsLouth’s National Harp Day celebrations saw Music Generation Louth (MGL), supported by Create Louth, host an afternoon concert at St. Nicholas’ Church of Ireland, Dundalk. The attentive audience was treated to an afternoon of wonderful music-making featuring the MGL Harp Ensemble, the 2019 Senior Harp Champion Fionnuala Donlon, Soprano Evelyne Bourton and local pedal harpist ChuChang Cronin. A wide variety of music was performed from traditional and contemporary repertoire including the music of O’Carolan, the Game of Thrones theme and a tune composed by Catríona McKay.
The event was advertised extensively locally via social media, Local 0nline news outlet talk of the town (Dundalk) and Drogheda Life, local newspapers Dundalk Democrat, Dundalk Leader & The Argus.
