‘Bring your Harp to School’ Day, 16th-20th October, Dublin and Wexford

Harpers across Ireland took part in this nationwide initiative which encouraged harpers and schools to get involved in Lá na Cruite | Harp Day 2023. Harpers visited schools in Belfast, Dublin, Meath and Wexford to tell students a little more about the harp, what it’s made from, how many strings it has and its history in ancient Ireland. Schools availed of CÉHI’s Lá na Cruite | Harp Day resource pack, complete with harps for colouring, fact finding, crossword and a quiz.

Harpers Luke Webb and Grace Galligan visited schools across Dublin and Wexford in the lead up to Lá na Cruite | Harp Day. Pupils were mesmerised by the magical sounds of the harp and even got a chance to try it out themselves!
