Cruit Éireann | Harp Ireland at Féile na Tána 2024
This year we were delighted to partner with Féile na Tána for the first time, and what a week it was. As we continue to deepen our engagement with schools using our brand new Schools’ Resource Pack, Dublin based harper Luke Webb visited six schools on the Cooley Peninsula in the week leading up to the festival. The positive feedback shows just how important the Irish harp is as part of our living cultural heritage.
On Friday 2nd February, The Harps Alive Cross Border Harp Ensemble performed to a packed audience at Carlingford Heritage Centre. The performance featured CÉHI’s 2023 commission for the Harps Alive
| An Chruit Bheo | Harps Leevin festival arranged by Gráinne Meyer, as well as pieces by the Elver Harp Ensemble and The TU Dublin Harp Ensemble. The concert showed the versatility of the harp, and the ensemble joined the wonderful Peadar Ó Riada, Máire Ní Chéileachar, Zoë Conway and John McIntyre for a final set of tunes.
Ár mbuíochas leis An Chomhairle Ealaíon, An Chomhairle Oidhreachta agus Zoë Conway as an comhoibriú fiúntach seo.
