Cork celebrated Harp Day in style with a series of unforgettable events:

An Chultúrlann, Newmarket, Sunday 13 October
3.30pm – 4.30pm: Free ensemble workshop with Siobhan Buckley
5.00pm: Concert featuring Siobhan Buckley and local harpers.
An inspiring ensemble workshop and concert led by Siobhan Buckley featuring local harpers brought the joy of harp music to the community.

Kinsale Library, Co Cork, Saturday 19 October
We celebrated Harp Day at Kinsale Library, featuring beautiful harp music by Eimear McDonagh & Glissando.
Contemporary words and music with poet James Harpur, harpers Anne-Marie Papin, Eimear McDonagh & Glissando – an unforgettable experience of blended poetry and harp.

The Drawing Room, Fota House, Co Cork
A special concert with teachers and students in the beautiful Drawing Room at Fota House & Gardens created an intimate setting for harp music.

Harpers in the Honan was a true celebration, with Aoife Granville & Deirdre Granville and Triona Marshall, joined by the University College Cork Harp Ensemble for an incredible free concert.

MTU Cork School of Music, Sunday 20th October
Recital: Siobhán Armstrong (harp) and Eibhlís Ní Ríordáin (harp and voice)
The Historical Harp Society of Ireland visited MTU Cork School of Music to give staff and students the opportunity to hear the early Irish harp played in concert, have questions answered at an illustrated talk, and participate in a hands-on beginners’ workshop.

The Historical Harp Society of Ireland at MTU Cork School of Music during Harp Day! This special event brought students, staff, and HHSI members together to experience the early Irish harp in all its beauty. Dr Siobhan Armstrong and Eibhlís Ní Ríordáin captivated us in concert, followed by Siobhán’s insightful talk on the harp’s history. The hands-on workshop was a fantastic chance to explore 18th-century harp music firsthand.
