Harp Day Galway – various venues, Saturday 19th October
Galway Pop-Up Performances appeared in unique locations across the city and countryside for Harp Day:
Ladies Beach, Salthill: Harpers Ann Fitzpatrick and Dara Ryan kicked off the day by the sea, bringing music to the coastline.
The Red Earl’s Hall: This historic spot featured poet Máirín Ní Dhonnchadha and harpers Kathleen Loughnane and Catriona Cannon, plus a Hands on Harps session for attendees to experience the harp firsthand.
Connemara National Park: Harper Caitriona Moskovskova filled the park with the sounds of the Irish harp.
Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop: Máire Ní Chróinín performed in this cozy setting, offering book lovers and passersby a peaceful musical interlude.
Aughnanure Castle, Oughterard: In the castle’s enchanting setting, Natalie Surina created a magical and historic concert.
The Crane Bar: A lively session featuring Kathleen Loughnane, Catriona Cannon, Cian Finn, and Caitríona Ní Almhain, blending harp and song in true Galway style.
