Celebrate Lá na Cruite │Harp Day at Glór and enjoy the immense talents of Aisling Lyons on traditional Irish harp and Kseniya Rusnak on the Ukrainian bandura. Aisling, a multi award-winning musician & composer from Co. Clare, has been described as ‘the finest Irish harper at work today’ by Songlines Magazine following the release of her debut album Aistear. Kseniya is an exceptional musician and composer from Kyiv who taught at the Kyiv Conservatory of Music before her departure from Ukraine.
Expect an eclectic selection of traditional music from Ireland and Ukraine in this unique performance.
Kseniya Rusnak plays harp and bandura – a type of lute or zither – which is considered the national musical instrument of Ukraine. A classical as well as folk musician, she is a member of the band Mosaic and moderator of a number of charity art projects including ‘Music in every Heart: Children for Children’ and ‘Winged Dreams’.
Aisling Lyons is the holder of 8 All-Ireland titles and has performed all around the world, from Europe to the U.S, Australia and China. She currently tutors harp at The Irish World Academy, Limerick & at University College Cork. Aisling’s debut album ‘Aistear’, supported by Clare County Council, was released in 2021 and has been described as ‘an exceptional CD’ (The Living Tradition), ‘a standout record, flawless’ (Hot Press) & ‘excellent’ (Folk Radio UK).
