Film Screening – Beart Bunting
Directed by Deaglán Ó Mochain.
Six of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians join with Strabane Brass Band to explore and perform a neglected part of the Edward Bunting collection – a manuscript of military music alongside traditional Irish airs and tunes, reflecting the turbulent political reality of Ireland before and after the 1798 rebellion. Beart Bunting features well-known Irish harpers – Lauren Ní Néill, Eilís Lavelle and Deirdre Granville.
Our thanks to the staff at the National Library of Ireland and to the Irish Traditional Music Archive for their support.
