Harpday 2024 in Kerry will not disappoint with a host of events happening across the county.
Dingle: Kerry Harpday events will begin with "Harp Yoga" at An Diseart, Dingle at 10am. There will be a 90mins yoga session led by Yogi Hannah Buckley alongside live harp accompaniment from Deirdre Granville. Tickets available here.
Killarney: Killarney School Of Music will host an informal fun harp session with Marina Biddy Blyth and Killarney Harp Club, with guests, where harpers can join in with a tune, do a solo or just be part of the session. Venue: Room 10, Killarney School of Music. Free Admission.
Back to Dingle for a free lunchtime concert at An Diseart Chapel. Beidh coirmcheoil am lóin sa Diseart le Cruitirí Reidun Schlesinger, Deirdre Granville, Hamish O Carroll, Cruitirí na Ríocht, an t-amhránaí Seosaimhín Ní Bheaglaoich agus go leor leor eile. There will also be an opportunity for hands on harps before and after the concert. Your chance to try out the harp in an atmospheric setting. Free Admission.
Tralee: Onto Tralee at 4pm where there will be an informal harp session and talk hosted by Michelle O Sullivan, Oidhreacht and members of the Music Generation Kerry Trad Ensemble. Bring your harp, siblings, friends, grandparents etc. for an informal afternoon with harp music and more, all instruments welcome. The perfect occasion to play your favourite piece in public, or to show us your new composition, to sing a song or to recite a poem, or to just come along to listen, meet, chat and enjoy. The event will include an opportunity to try out the harp. Free admission. Venue-Kerry County Museum in Denny Street
Evening Recital at St. John’s Theatre, Listowel with Hamish O Carroll, Cruitirí Óga Lios Tuathail and special guests. Free admission.
