The Thomas Connellan Harp Festival in Lough Gur takes place the 13th - 15th of September. There is stellar line up of some of the best harp players in the country. The festival celebrates Lough Gur's link with famous harper and composer Thomas Connellan. Connellan is said to have died at Bouchier's Castle in 1698 and to be buried in Teampall Nua.
