Edward Bunting’s grave, which was restored as part of the 2022 festival became a performance space, where Aosdána poet Moya Cannon and harper Aisling Lyons revisited the ancient bardic tradition of poet and harper. This duo performed a newly commissioned poem reflecting Bunting’s key role as a major collector, the transcriber of the music played by the harpers at the 1792 harpers’ gathering, and as a conserver of the harping tradition in Ireland .
